Jel Sert Company Expanding
Governor JB Pritzker, The Jel Sert Company, and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity announced Jel Sert will expand its West Chicago operations, creating more than 50 new full-time manufacturing and packing operations jobs while retaining nearly 1,000 existing positions in Illinois.

Solar Eclipse Viewing at Library
The total solar eclipse Monday, April 8, 2024, will be the last one visible from Illinois until 2044. It is expected this total solar eclipse will darken the sky above the West Chicago Public Library for a few minutes in the middle of the day. The library has the special Glasses and has additional activities planned for the day.
