Chief of Police George Riehm was murdered Friday, April 29, 1921, while investigating a burglary at a lumber yard. Reserve Officer Raymond Wilson was shot and killed Sunday, July 25, 1965, while removing a man from the Railroad Days festival at Reed-Keppler Park. Officer Michael Browning was murdered Monday, April 20, 1992, after responding to a burglary in progress at an automobile dealership.
