rrrrRRailroad Days Grand Marshal Rudy Rust and his wife Anna wave to the crowds along the parade route. The parade theme was “We Had A Dream.” During WWII, Rudy was a German Prisoner of War. The kind treatment by the American soldiers made it possible for Rudy to have a dream and see it fulfilled. He wanted to come to America and become a citizen. They arrived in the U.S, in 1954, became citizens in 1960 and move to West Chicago in 1979. they joined West Chicago Sister Cities in 2003.
